Ajinkyatara Fort has a history as captivating as its name. Built in 1500 AD by Raja Bhoj of the Shilahara dynasty, the fort became a prominent stronghold during the Maratha Empire. It was Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who truly brought this fort to prominence, using it as a strategic base to safeguard his kingdom. Later, it served as the administrative headquarters for Shahu Maharaj during his reign.
